Speyside, the Home of the Single Malt Whisky

Glenfiddich Distillery at Dufftown, Speyside

For many whisky enthusiasts malt whisky is most closely associated with this area, but in truth this is only half the story. There are many distilleries located in close vicinity of the river.

Another river, the River Livet has also suffered from the same back-handed compliment and over the years many distillers claimed to produce a ‘Glenlivet’, when strictly speaking they were stretching not only the geographical boundaries a bit far, but also the patience of the owners of The Glenlivet Distillery itself. Luang Prabang, Laos: Just the Normal French Connection

Buddhist Monks in Luang Prabang, Laos

Luang Prabang/ghk. There are many villages and cities, which resemble the typical character of a country. The main capital normally influences the image of a country as much as customs, people and landscape. When you travel to Luang Prabang in the north of Laos, this is not very true anymore.

Luang Prabang is not Laos as imagined – and Laos is not Luang Prabang.
